One Million Meters and Counting

Enabling Smart Grids is a critical stepping stone to efficiently manage the peaks and valleys of energy use. A key facet of Smart Grids is better point -of-and time-of-use measurement via Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI). As one of the innovative leaders of the AMI parade, Trilliant has deployed over one million smart meters to date. The result? Up to 26 percent energy consumption savings for customers via mix of smart meters and conservation.

Trilliant has roots are nearly 20 years old when the company was developing metering technologies connected via telephones. In 2007, the company merged with OZZ Corporation to advance its products and services within North American electric and gas utility markets. Today, Trilliant's advanced metering products help utilities improve their customer service, reduce operational costs, and provide the foundation for innovative new programs - such as cost incentives to lower usage during peak power times -- needed to better align consumption behavior with market prices.

Trilliant supports all of the major cellular networks and some private networks to maintain its reach across utilities, to specific businesses and down to individual residences.

SecureMeshTM Network

The SecureMeshTM Network is Trilliant's AMI solutions package for utilities. The company has a number of case studies illustrating SecureMesh Network and how it meets the current needs of utility companies. In addition, SecureMesh provides comprehensive communications, monitoring, reporting, and remote control tools for time-of-use pricing, demand response, direct load control, and distribution grid monitoring.

Commercial & Industrial

Trilliant's CellReader® products were the industry's first "underglass" standards-compliant two-way advanced meter communications products for commercial electric meters and advanced gas meter instruments. These devices deliver time-sensitive energy data at nearly anytime supporting the growing need for advanced rates (e.g. real-time pricing) and demand response. Trilliant offers a portfolio of products that are ideal for C&I applications including replacement of analog cellular and dedicated phone technologies.

Residential

Trilliant claims to be the first AMI vendor to introduce an open standards-compliant wireless mesh network solution for mass-market (residential) applications. The MeshReaderTM intelligent metering communications uses open standards for two-way communications for residential customer applications. This system was first installed in Ontario, Canada and in 2006, it began a 1.3 million meter deployment with Hydro One, Ontario's largest energy company. Read press release.
